I am a lifelong Newton resident, a product of the Newton Public Schools and a graduate of Simmons College. I have been active in my community for many years working on environmental and open space issues. I am currently the chair of the Public Facilities Committee which oversees the Department of Public Works, including the Water and Sewer division, Engineering and Public Buildings. I also serve as a member of the Zoning and Planning Committee.
My volunteer experience includes serving on the executive committee of the Massachusetts Sierra Club and on the boards of the Newton Conservators and the Newton League of Women Voters. Professionally I worked for 2 years as the Associate Director of the Community Preservation Coalition which works with communities to understand, adopt and implement the Community Preservation Act. I currently work as a program manager for a social services non-profit serving adults with intellectual disabilities.
My son Peter is a senior at Newton North High School and my daughter Olivia is a sophomore at UMass/Amherst.
