I am a lifelong Newton resident and a product of the Newton Public Schools (Underwood, Bigelow and NNHS). I have been active in my community for many years working on environmental and open space issues. I am currently the chair of the Public Facilities Committee which overseas the Department of Public Works, including the Water and Sewer division, Engineering and Public Buildings.
I have served on the Executive Committee of the Massachusetts Sierra Club and on the board of the Newton Conservators. I also served on the board of the Newton League of Women Voters. Currently, I work for a social services agency serving adults with intellecutal disabilities.
My husband Peter A. Mooradian and I have two children. My daughter Olivia is a recent graduate of Newton North High School and my son Peter is entering his senior year.
When not working, I love being outdoors hiking, birding and riding.
